BGOLDN Pantry Manager
Reports To: Executive Director

Compensation and Benefits
Pay Rate: $35,000 - $45,000 depending on scheduling and background with an opportunity for an annual bonus.
Work Schedule: 30 to 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday, with occasional weekends and evenings at your discretion. The work schedule must align with the pantry operating hours or ensure coverage by the Pantry Operations Manager. As this position is evolving, the hours may fluctuate above 25.
Payment Frequency: Bi-Monthly
Benefits: A technology stipend of $15 per month, a Simple IRA with a 4% company match, an optional health insurance stipend, flexible scheduling and unlimited time off (conditions apply).
Position Description
The Pantry Manager is responsible for all aspects of BGOLDN’s Fresh Food Pantry including procurement, donation coordination, distribution of food to community members, home delivery, and site management. The manager trains, coordinates, and manages staff and volunteers to ensure that daily client needs are met. They embrace BGOLDN’s mission to increase food security in the Golden community through innovative partnerships and programs.
Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of food inventory procurement, controls, and distribution.
Maintain adequate food supply to provide the best quality and diverse selection of food for the average number of clients per month within the food budget.
Manage the ordering and receiving of food and validate invoices from various sources.
Receive, and record food donations. Assist with coordinating food drives.
Coordinate and support volunteers and staff to stock the pantry and ensure all food is sorted and stored safely and sanitary.
Maintain accurate records of food purchases, distribution, and client data.
Work with area grocery stores, food banks, and other no-cost distribution sources to increase food donations.
Utilize good inventory practices to ensure food quality and minimize waste.
Manage the food distribution process with the help of other pantry staff and volunteers.
Organize packing for home deliveries and receiving of rescued food, when applicable.
Implement food pantry safety policies and procedures as enforced by BGOLDN, Colorado Department of Health and USDA.
Assist the Executive Director with the budget process for food purchases.
Personnel Supervision
Schedule pantry volunteers to ensure consistent, adequate support for operations.
Oversee and train volunteer activities in coordination with the Operations Lead.
Facilities Management
Maintain a clean, well-ordered pantry with operations lead.
Manage hours of operations to best accommodate our client’s needs.
Coordinate onsite relationship with rented space landlord.
Ensure all equipment – refrigerators, freezers, scale, shelving, and sink stay in good working order; schedule maintenance as needed.
Skills Required
Qualifications
1 to 3 Years of Supervisory and Operations experience required.
Strong communication and leadership skills – The position requires the ability to interact and communicate with staff, volunteers, and the community (pantry clients and donors).
Knowledge of food safety, storage practices, and inventory management.
A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are required.
Working knowledge of computer systems including MS Excel and Word.
Strong organization and time management skills required.
Able to work as a collaborative team member in delivering customer service.
Certified in food handling safety standards desired (will provide training if needed).
This position requires walking, standing, sitting and lifting boxes up to 40 lbs.
